These terms are an agreement between you and TrueDex LLC (“TrueDex”, “we”) for using gettruedex.com and the TrueDex app (the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
The service
TrueDex helps you track Pokémon cards, graded cards and sealed products: what they’re worth, how that changed, and what you might net if you sold. Prices come from third-party data and are refreshed about once a day.
Estimates, not advice
All values, nets, dealer estimates and sales volume ratings are estimates. They can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and real sale prices, fees and shipping vary. Nothing in TrueDex is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Decide for yourself before buying or selling, and don’t rely on TrueDex as your only source.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian’s permission).
- Give a real email address and keep your password safe. You’re responsible for what happens under your account.
- Your collection data is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, as described in our privacy policy.
Subscription
- TrueDex is a paid service. Using it requires a subscription to one of two plans (US dollars, plus any tax that applies). There’s no free plan.
- Collector: $9.99 a month or $99 a year. When you first subscribe from our home page, the first 7 days are free: you enter a payment method at checkout and are first charged when the free days end, unless you cancel before then.
- Curator: $29.99 a month or $299 a year, billed the day you subscribe. It includes everything in Collector, plus a review of your collection by a card expert once a month, sent to your account’s email. The review is our opinion on things like grading, pricing and selling; it isn’t financial advice, and what you do with it is up to you.
- We sometimes offer a free month by invitation. It needs no payment method and nothing is charged. It’s one per person, and access ends when the month does unless you subscribe.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We’ll tell you in advance before any price change applies to you.
- You can cancel any time in Settings (“Manage or cancel subscription”). You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Payments aren’t refunded for partial periods, except where the law requires; if something went wrong with a charge, email us and we’ll make it right.
- When a subscription ends, your account and data are kept, but you can’t use the app until you subscribe again. You can still log in to manage your account, or email us to delete it.
- Payments are processed by Stripe under its own terms. If a payment fails, access may stop until it’s fixed.
- We may change or remove features, or the plans themselves, with notice. If we stop offering TrueDex, we’ll refund the unused part of any yearly subscription.
Fair use
Please don’t:
- use the service for anything illegal, or to mislead other people about a card’s value;
- copy, scrape, resell or redistribute TrueDex’s price data or the service itself;
- use bots, scripts or other automated tools to use the service or collect its data, or reach its data any way other than through the app;
- use more than one account to get around the limits below;
- try to break into, overload or reverse-engineer the service, or access other people’s accounts;
- send us anything harmful, such as malware.
To keep TrueDex fast and fair, each account has limits on how many price pages, searches and listing lookups it can make in an hour and in a day. They’re set far above what a person uses. Past them, the app asks you to try again later. An account that goes far past them, or that looks automated, may be paused straight away while we look into it. If you think we got it wrong, email us and we’ll sort it out quickly.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close an account for breaking them, we don’t refund the rest of its subscription, except where the law requires.
Feedback
If you send feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve TrueDex without owing you anything.
Other people’s content and trademarks
Card images and price data come from third parties and belong to their owners. Pokémon and all related names are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc. TrueDex is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, TCGplayer, eBay, or the grading companies named in the app. If you believe something in TrueDex infringes your rights, email support@gettruedex.com and we’ll take it down promptly.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, including that the service will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, TrueDex LLC won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or decisions made using TrueDex’s estimates. Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Ending your account
You can stop using TrueDex at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@getcardrise.com from your account’s email address. Deleting cancels your subscription straight away, without a refund for the rest of the period. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as estimates, no warranty, limit of liability and governing law) survive after your account ends.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using TrueDex after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim locally. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.
